Day 6: Your last random act of kindness
Is it bad that something doesn't automatically spring to mind? Probably, but I don't like this title anyway. Some acts of kindness are big and amazing, whereas others are just tiny things that make people smile on a daily basis. So I don't think I've done anything extravagantly generous recently, although I guess I've done a few smaller things. But to be honest, I don't really see the point in writing a blog post about how I made my mum a cup of tea, as that would probably send you all off to sleep.
Instead, how about a little list of random things you can do to show someone that you love them:
Bake them their favourite cake
Make them a card to say 'thank you' for something
Do a chore or job for them
Offer to make dinner
Smile
Ask them how they are or about their day and make sure you actually listen to the answer
Take them a treat or a hot drink when you think they might need it
Complement them on their hair/clothes (only if you're being honest though!)
Make them feel noticed
Complement them on something they've done or said
Send them a text or give them a call just to find out how they are, rather than just because you need to talk
If you're out and you see something they'd love, get it for them or tell them about it
Make the effort to show interest in their hobbies/job/relationships etc
I'm sure most people do all those things anyway and don't need me to patronisingly write them all down. But I really couldn't bring myself to do a showy-off blog post about things I've done to be kind, so I'm afraid you're stuck with the condescending 'how to be kind' list!
